Poonch 06 January (KNO) : Hundreds including lawyers, students, businessmen and others joined today an interaction programme with Er. Rasheed at Poonch town. On the occasion while appealing India and Pakistan to take lessons from every killing including that of those losing lives on both the sides of LOC, militants and policemen, AIP Supremo and MLA Lanagate Er. Rasheed said that resolution to J&K dispute is key to up liftment of people of entire subcontinent. Er. Rasheed answered questions of participants for three hours and exchanged views with the participants pertaining to governance and political resolution to the seventy year long dispute. Er. Rasheed made it clear that nobody wants a resolution on communal lines and those saying so are just doing it intentionally to give a communal color to the issue. He said “It Is not issue of one community only, but the resolution will yield fruitful dividends to all sections of society. Since Prime Minister has been himself claiming on more than one occasion that people of Gilgit Baltistan and POK also want to be part of India as such to avoid further confusions and fulfill the principals of natural justice, India and Pakistan should respect the sentiments of people of state and resolve the issue by fulfilling commandments made with them on various national and international forums. The political uncertainty has made life of everyone like a hell and not only Kashmiris but people living in border areas, and men in uniform are also fed up with the current situation. The uncertainty has badly hampered governance and political setup has got an excuse to avoid resolution to day to day problems of the masses”. Er. Rasheed while expressing sympathy with the families of soldiers who lost their lives in Sopore blast reiterated that Kashmiris want an end to killings but since there is nothing in their hands, their condemnations and sympathies are useless. He said “Let India and Pakistan understand the bitter realities and rise to the occasion without further delay so that people of Jammu & Kashmir see some light at the end of the tunnel”. Er. Rasheed thanked people of Poonch for listening his views and promised that he will work together with them for the common interest of all the three regions and ensure that people of Pir Panchal region are not always deprived of their rights in various fields.(KNO)
